In comparison to other curriculums (e.g ABLLS-R or VB-MAPP), PEAK provides a much more comprehensive curriculum across a wider range of language abilities. Current curriculums utilizes a verbal behavior approach while PEAK combines the traditional verbal behavior approach with relational responding. PEAK expands beyond the scope of skills taught in the ABLLS-R or VB-MAPP to promote generalization and higher-order language and cognitive abilities. To illustrate, the VB-MAPP provides targets up to the skills expected of a typically developing 4-year old, whereas PEAK-D provides targets up to age 8, and PEAK-G provides targets up-to age 11. In summary, PEAK appears to target skills not incorporated in other curriculums.
