What is third-generation behaviour therapies?

Third-generation behaviour therapies refer to a series of therapies that emerge in the 90s. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Hayes et. al., 1999) is probably one of the most widely studied third-genration behaviour therapy models. It is based on Relational Frame Theory (RFT). RFT explores how human learns language in the context of the interpersonal functions.
